So what’s the point of this, right? Great question! Here’s the answer:
I want to take a break from being connected. It can’t be a total break because of work, but if I had a little zone away from social media where I could continue to spill content into the void, that would be ideal. So this is that zone.
Speaking of work, my professional portfolio hasn’t been updated in a while. Design wise, it’s looked the same since I got hired in 2011. Rather than stress about rebuilding that as a way to stay on the Internet, I figured I’d just do this instead.
And by ‘do this,’ I mean not only writing little things and sharing pictures, but hand coding every page on this site. Sure, CMSs and frameworks and preprocessors and whatever could make everything quicker and easier, but then I wouldn’t be mixing it up in a text editor as often, which I find to be fun.
So that’s that. Even if no one visits, the bandwidth costs practically nothing, and I’ll have something to look at and laugh about. ☯
